New Non-Fiction Release Collects Funny, Poignant Memoirs with Spiritual Overview; Dog Ear Publishing Releases Book by David Patterson

Fort Wayne, IN, May 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- David Patterson enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Fort Wayne, Ind.; through the 1940s and '50s, Patterson engaged in the usual innocent mischief with his friends, none the worse for wear in spite of some extremely close calls. As a spiritually mature adult, he looks back at his youth and sees theses experiences as signs placed by the Lord to help open his heart and mind “to the wondrous power of our Lord, Jesus Christ.” Some of the tales are funny, some are hair-raising, some poignant, but all of them are one thing: true. Patterson shares his stories to entertain, but also to teach about the ways that God has guided him throughout his life.

From his experiences in school through his young adulthood and into his maturity, Patterson shares his stories and pairs each story with an applicable bible verse. Patterson has no compunction about telling tales that might not show him at his best light; in fact, he seems to delight in not taking himself or anyone around him too seriously. This joyful attitude infiltrates his stories, and even those that are a more serious end with a note of hope. These are memoirs born of “naivety, an over-active imagination, or stupidity,” but they are entertaining and enlightening.

OK, OK! But!! You Asked For It!, published by Dog Ear Publishing, is David Roy Patterson’s first book, and an excellent vehicle to share his lifelong adventures, “be it good, but mostly bad.” A lifetime Fort Wayne resident, Dave has been working at Murray Equipment Inc. since 1968. Married for more than 45 years, Dave and his wife, Cindi, are proud parents to four children and grandparents to seven children. Dave wrote his inspirational tales as a way to tell others that “it’s not where you were spiritually, but where you are now,” he writes.
