Dental Technology Startup, Praccel Receives Early Stage Funding

Cleveland, OH, May 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Praccel LLC was awarded an early-stage investment of $40,000 as one of 110 startup companies selected to participate in Start-Up Chile. The Cleveland-based dental technology startup is developing a web application to help dental practices analyze data to optimize their businesses.

Since most people spend so little time with a dentist, it may come as a surprise that dentists are highly entrepreneurial. Over 66% of dentists are solo practitioners. However, the responsibility of keeping clean healthy mouths for thousands of patients, coupled with managing employees and dozens of insurance companies can prove quite challenging.

Bradenton, FL dentist Dr. Amir Guirguis said, “With the hectic pace of most offices, it’s important to surround yourself with tools that will enable you to look at your business objectively. I absolutely use reports to make better decisions about my practice.”

Thus, Praccel’s Practice Accelerator™ allows dentists to quickly visualize practice performance and track trends, milestones and goals. Interactive charts and graphs are available within the platform by analyzing data from practice management systems and accounting software like QuickBooks®.

Praccel will use the funding to complete development of the application and release an open Beta version in the fall of 2011.

As recipients of the Start-Up Chile funding, the company will pursue solutions to satisfy dental practice needs in the US as well as internationally. Co-founder Eric Jobidon will participate in the program in Chile on behalf of the company.

The startup opened in Cleveland after moving from Dallas, Texas in late 2010 and has received early-stage guidance from JumpStart. Thanks to the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network and Entrepreneur-In-Residence Kendall Wouters, the company was able to vet and identify the best value proposition for customers.
