Local Volunteers Host Alex’s Lemonade Stand During National Lemonade Days

The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West to host lemonade stand to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.

Philadelphia, PA, May 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West will host their 1st Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand as part of the National Lemonade Days weekend on Thursday, June 9, 2011 – Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 11am-1pm and again 3pm – 6pm, 4010 City Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West decided to get involved because many of their young guests are visiting Philadelphia for cancer treatments at local hospitals. After seeing the impact this disease has on the children and their families, the Crowne Plaza concluded that they would host a lemonade stand every year to contribute to the battle against childhood cancer.

Founded by Alex Scott (1996-2004) in 2004, Lemonade Days is a three day national event that grew out of Alex's front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year over the same June weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex's Lemonade Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research in one weekend. June 2011 will mark the 8th Annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000 volunteers at over 2,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands around the nation making a difference for children with cancer. Lemonade Days 2011 is set for June 9, 10, 11 and 12.
