Art in the Village returns June 4 - 5, 2011 with an explosion of color, an abundance of talent and a myriad of mediums transforming Legacy Village into a gallery style outdoor art extravaganza featuring the finest work of more than 200 of the nation’s leading artists including the finest local artists from the greater Cleveland area. Admission is free and open to the public.

Bold and vibrant paintings, contemporary and whimsical art, life-size sculptures, photography and jewelry are among the many works of art that will be on display and for sale during the 21st anniversary of this popular summer show. All artists will be on site for the duration of the festival, available to discuss their art and inspiration.

“The art show is a great way to explore the work of many different artists in one setting,” says festival promoter Howard Alan. “You have the opportunity to meet and connect with the artist before making a purchase, which makes the investment much more meaningful and personal.”

The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, are hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America.

Art in the Village makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $30,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.

“There’s no need to travel far to have some first-of-the-summer-season fun. This year’s Art in the Village at Legacy Village will offer more kids activities as well as some new additions for the art enthusiast,” said Legacy Village General Manager Marcie Gilmore. “ Art in the Village is a great mini getaway for residents throughout Northern Ohio.”
