Cinematographer Dean Cundey Assisting Filmmaking Students at The Art Institute of California - Orange County with Visionary Cinema's Scott Essman's Short Film

Santa Ana, CA, June 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Dean Cundey, noted cinematographer for Halloween (1978), The Thing (1982), Back to the Future (1985), Jurassic Park (1993) and Apollo 13 (1995) will be assisting students at The Art Institute of California - Orange County with Scott Essman's short film project shooting this weekend, "Ten Men on the Field."

Cundey first met a group of the students this past winter in a real-time seminar where he dissected his work on Jurassic Park. He will be consulting on their approaches to lighting and cinematography for the new film, shooting all day on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5.

Students in the program, which just began 11 months ago, learn every aspect of the filmmaking craft, from screenwriting to cinematography and digital video editing. Not only is the students' workflow purely digital, but a new multi-camera studio at the school provides access to tapeless production. The weekend shoot will be in a 1080i HD format.

"Ten Men on the Field" was written and will be directed by Scott Essman of Visionary Cinema. Concerning big league baseball, the film centers around a young executive who is confronted with having to approve a major rule change in the game.
