SRxA and TREAT Education to Host the 2011 American Cough Conference

SRxA Strategic Pharmaceutical Advisors, a leading healthcare consulting, marketing and education firm, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with TREAT Education to provide logistics management for the 2011 American Cough Conference (ACC).

Washington, DC, June 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The ACC is the nation’s leading educational program on cough for all health care professionals involved in improving the management of patients with cough. The meeting provides a state-of-the-art, academic update on the evaluation and management of cough - one the most common complaints for which patients worldwide seek medical attention.

The event will gather together many of the world’s leading experts in cough to discuss epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of cough, along with the latest developments in basic and clinical research. This Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference will take place at the Affinia Manhattan Hotel in New York, NY on June 10 and 11 and will provide attendees with up to 11.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™.

The ACC will be chaired by Peter Dicpinigaitis, MD, Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and founder/director of the Montefiore Cough Center, one of the few specialty centers in the world exclusively committed to the evaluation and management of patients with chronic cough. Dr. Peter Dicpinigaitis will be joined by an extensive international faculty representing the Who’s Who of cough.

The ACC was created in 2007 to expand upon the London Cough Conference and to provide U.S. health care providers with an educational program based on peer-to-peer, cutting-edge discussion, debate and dialogue.

The 2011 event expects to welcome over 150 physicians from around the world. In addition to those from the U.S. registered delegates include those from: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the Slovak Republic and the United Kingdom. For those unable to attend the ACC, the proceedings will be published in a special topical issue of Lung, and will be made available to all online and print subscribers.

According to Dr. Peter Dicpinigaitis, “SRxA was the natural choice as a partner to support the logistics of the meeting because of their expertise and professionalism in conference management. They help us provide an outstanding and seamless meeting experience for exhibitors and commercial sponsors alike.”

“We are delighted to have been selected by Dr. Dicpinigaitis and TREAT Education to manage this conference. According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, cough is the most common complaint for which patients in the U.S. seek medical attention. We are pleased to help increase awareness of this debilitating condition. ACC attendees will gain a better understanding of cough and its management, which will ultimately benefit patients,” commented Christos Efessiou, PhD, SRxA’s Chief Executive Officer.
