While the Gold category was awarded to three companies, with Exigen Services Latvia, together with other large companies such as Swedbank, Lattelecom, Latvenergo, Latvian Railroad and CocaCola qualifying for the Silver category.
The SI covers the management of five key areas: Strategy, Community, Environment, Marketplace and Workplace and finally performance in a range of social and environmental performance and impact areas.

The Sustainability Index methodology was developed over time by a wide range of Latvian experts based on the best global examples (Dow Jones Sustainability Index and CR Index by Business in the Community) and in line with the corporate responsibility standard SO 26000 and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines. The index has been adapted to the local audience evaluating the local performance of enterprises with regard to economic, social and environmental issues, taking into consideration global corporate responsibility and sustainability criteria.

The aim of the Index is to improve the performance of companies rather than promoting, and therefore the individual results are not published. Participants are ranked within 4 categories – Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze – showing the approximate level of their Sustainability Index score. The Sustainability Index arranges enterprise in alphabetical order in 4 categories – Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze – depending on the total index. The Platinum status is awarded to enterprises with a total sustainability index above 90%, Gold, 80–89.9%, Silver, 60–79.9%, Bronze, 40–59.9%.
