Denver, CO, October 03, 2005 --(PR.com)-- The Graphic Design team at Baxa Corporation received a 2005 Environmental Design award for their “right equipment” trade show graphic. The award, sponsored by the Art Directors Club of Denver, recognizes design excellence from Denver metro area agencies and in-house graphics teams and was one of several presented at the ADCD Annual Show.

The large-format graphic uses a humorous image and the tagline “The right equipment makes all the difference,” to emphasize the importance of using Baxa technology to ensure the best results. The photography shows a grade-school age quarterback dressed to go swimming and about to be sacked by a football team in full protective gear. The graphic points out the hazards of using the wrong medical equipment with humor as opposed to fear, and has been well received by its target audience of health-system pharmacists.

“We wanted to create a visual that was immediately appealing”, stated Eric Brettillo, Art Director for Baxa. “But we didn’t want to play on the fear of medical errors and patient safety. The resulting design connected well with our target audience, and in a very positive way.” The graphic is now in use as part of a direct mail campaign, reinforcing the message from the trade show back to the hospital where the Baxa products are used.

The ADCD recently passed its 40-year anniversary. Their goal in creating the annual awards was to provide a medium for enhancing the professional side of this creative industry. The organization strives to allow Denver-area creative individuals and allied professionals the opportunity for a common meeting ground where they can gain greater proficiency through professional understanding and cooperation.

Baxa Corporation is the world’s leading provider of automated systems for sterile solution compounding and syringe filling in hospital and alternate-care pharmacies.
