Central Ohio Technical College and Unimarket Announced Today the Implementation of Unimarket’s SaaS Collaborative eSourcing Solution

Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and Unimarket announced today the implementation of Unimarket’s SaaS Collaborative eSourcing solution to improve bidding operations, achieve savings and offer collaborative bid-sharing opportunities to other Ohio institutions.

Annapolis, MD, June 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Today, Central Ohio Technical College – a fully accredited two-year college offering high-quality, accessible programs of technical education- -- and Unimarket, an innovator of collaborative eProcurement and eSourcing solutions for HigherEd, announced the signing of an agreement to implement eSourcing functionality throughout the College. COTC is excited to bring this innovative, on-demand, and web-based tool set into the state of Ohio’s technical college setting, and especially looks forward to obtaining the efficiency and cost savings advantages obtainable through Unimarket. Now a four-campus operation, COTC sees the collaborative technology inherent in the Unimarket solution as an operational gain not only internally, but hopefully across other institutions as well.

“We expect this initiative will drive benefits for both COTC and its suppliers alike in managing and responding to often complex and timely bidding activities,” said Scott Blackwood, CEO of Unimarket. “Faster, easier bidding processes to contract award, combined with efficient automated supply chains through eProcurement and order fulfillment, usually equate to more competitive bids and lower prices for the customer,” added Blackwood.

David Brillhart, COTC Vice President for business and finance, remarked on the announcement, “We’re pleased to be bringing state-of-the-art business processes to our procurement operations through the adoption of the Unimarket system. As a public institution that prides itself on exceptional programs in the technical fields at an affordable rate of tuition, we know that the gains from improved operations will help us keep those rates at an accessible level for our students.”

COTC is a state-assisted post-secondary institution of higher education offering more than 50 associate degree and certificate programs in business, health, engineering, and public service technologies. The College annually enrolls close to 5,000 students throughout its four campus locations and online. COTC has been accredited by the North Central Association of College since 1975. Its rapidly growing alumni network includes more than 7,000 graduates.

”We are convinced,” continued Brillhart, “that Unimarket’s solution will vastly improve and speed up the bidding process between COTC and its supplier community.”

“Unimarket’s collaborative eSourcing feature was the key element for me,” said Maggie Camstra, COTC’s Purchasing and Auxiliary Services Manager. She hopes to see COTC being able to combine its bidding on needed services, supplies and equipment with other Ohio institutions that have a common need as well. “We all hope to enjoy better costs for the necessary goods and materials we require if we want to continue to provide a high quality campus experience for our student body,” added Camstra.
