Steampunk Band Jarmean? Announce Release of Their Forthcoming EP "Bad Penny" on Expat Records

The Bad Penny EP, a collection of 5 "Dickensian punk" tracks, blending steampunk, vaudeville pop, jazz, ukelele as well as the tuba will be available from 13th June 2011.

London, United Kingdom, June 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Since emerging in 2008 Jarmean? have played Bestival, Electric Picnic Festival, London Burlesque Festival, The Jazz Cafe, Last Days of Decadence and events for White Mischief and the mighty Lost Vagueness.

Mixing the traditional with futuristic has given Steampunk band Jarmean? a distinct sound that has seen them headline the Spiegel Tent at Bestival, The Scala and Bush Hall. They are renowned for their theatrical performances and their exaggerated London ‘Mockney’ sound. Jarmean? often compare themselves to Blur, Madness, Gorgo Bordello, The Dresden Dolls and The Coral. They have been featured on Steve Lamacq's show (BBC Radio 2) where he described them as “Blur meets Jack the Ripper.”

The EP accompanies an award winning video for title track ‘Bad Penny.’ directed by Alex Sufit (Lexitricity). The Bad Penny video won the 'Radar Award' for best music video at the 8th London Short Film Festival. It was also nominated for the 'Music Video Award' at Rushes Soho Shorts, 'Best New Talent' at MUSICLIP 2010 (Barcelona) and showcased as part of the BBC Norfolk Music Video Festival (BBC New Talent/ Radio 1). The video has also featured in Promo News and NME, as well as international industry press, including Popkontext! Germany and the Chicago Sun-Times.
