The Medal Play Open at SunRidge Canyon Results

Fountain Hills, AZ, June 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Medal Play Open was contested at the challenging SunRidge Canyon Golf Club in Fountain Hills on Sunday. “Players were challenged for the major today,” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “But there was some good scores for the players who showed patience and kept the ball in play.”

The Championship Division saw tour rookie Andy Castro fire an impressive net 73 to claim the victory in his first MPGT event. Kurt Chambers and Dennis Kindred battled it out for 2nd and tour vet Joe White finished 4th.

Russell Gaston from the SoCal tour took the Gold Division with an impressive round of net 75. Terry Hopton took second and Al Mayhew finished 3rd.

Matt Horner continued his winning ways in the Silver Division by outlasting Bob Hickman for the win.

In the World Golfers Championship Qualifier we had Bruce Browne qualify over 3 competitors with a net 73. Congratulations as he moves on to Nationals in San Antonio, TX in late September.

The tour returns to action at Troon North (Pinnacle) on Saturday, June 4th.
