March Entertainment Releases Cranky Cat for Android, iOS

March Entertainment, an Ontario-based animation and gaming company, released its first game for both the Android Market and iTunes Store.

Toronto, Canada, June 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- March Entertainment has released its first casual game, a bubble-popping puzzler called Cranky Cat.

Fast-paced and addictive, the game features a cantankerous Victorian-era cat trying to create a youth elixir by condensing chemical compounds in a steam-powered centrifuge. Cranky Cat is March's first game not tied to an existing intellectual property, and marks the company's foray into "pure" casual gaming just for the fun of it.

The game is currently available on the Android Market, Apple iTunes (iPad, iPhone and iPod touch), and a free demo can be played on the property's website. Full online and downloadable versions will arrive in the coming weeks.

The game is free to try and more levels can be unlocked through in-app purchasing. There are more than 250 hand-crafted levels as well as three variations of "infinite" mode.

Cranky Cat was built in the Unity game engine, another first for the company, which has previously built games primarily in Flash, such as The Great Canadian Trivia Shootout andDex Hamilton's Bug Quest. It also features full integration with OpenFeint, a popular cross-platform gaming network.
