London, United Kingdom, June 14, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- UK Fuzz Rock band Subset have spent the last 2 years carving out a name for themselves creating a direct, honest, heart-felt and no-frills brand of alternative rock.
In that short space of time the Dunstable-based garage rock band have self-released and self-funded an EP and a trio of singles. In 2010 Subset racked up no less than 70 live shows as well reaching the final stage of a national battle of the bands competition. Subset is the epitome of the plug-and-play band and for most of their touring use public transport.
It is this grass-roots and honest relationship with their audience, known as 'Subsetters', which enabled the fuzz-rock foursome to fund their new EP, named Mahogany.
Bassist, Jay, states: “Subsetters know that we haven’t got a lot of money and we don’t overcharge for gigs but we also want to make our debut release with Expat count so we asked for their help. We set up a Sellaband campaign and really didn’t know if we’d get £4 let alone 4,000 Euros! It’s fantastic to have such a great group of people believe in us but there’s also the added pressure of not to disappointing our family of Subsetters.”
Jeff Libby, CEO of Expat Records comments, “Fuzz Rockers Subset were taking no chances with the Mahogany EP and submitted a total of 13 great tracks for consideration. They write about real situations, real feelings; sometimes romantic, sometimes angry but always honest. We are sure their fans will be very pleased with the tracks being released.”
Subset is a Garage Rock Band from Dunstable. London. They have a broad range of influences from UK Indie bands, American and British Punk, Post-Punk and New Wave weaved together by (vocalist/guitarist) Rom, (bassist) Jay, (guitarist) Rob and (drummer) Steve.
Their new EP entitled Mahogany will be released on Expat Records on 15/06/11.
