Decatur, AL, June 15, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- M&D Mechanical Contractors has been awarded a national platinum STEP Award, and is one of only two North Alabama contractors to receive this designation from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) National Environment, Health and Safety Committee. This is the company's sixth consecutive year to receive the platinum status for this safety award.
M&D Mechanical Contractors' last lost time accident was July 26, 2007 and the last recordable incident occurred over 240 days from May. "We have been enjoying a great run in the safety record books, said Bobby Allfrey of M&D Mechanical Contractors. "The commitment by our management team and employees towards providing a safe working environment is paying off big time. This trend toward excellence carries over into other aspects of the job, like quality of work, lower costs, and time savings."
The STEP Award recognized the outstanding safety training efforts of ABC members and is awarded at five levels (participant, bronze, silver, gold, and platinum). In 2011, only 571 ABC members in the nation were awarded the platinum status.
