Brooklyn Short Film Festival Winners Announcement

The Brooklyn Short Film Festival, New York's premiere short film festival, announces the award winning films from 2011.

Brooklyn, NY, June 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The 2011 Brooklyn Short Film Festival came to a close this weekend with an awards gala held at the Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO following a week long presentation of short films and live performances.

Mike Rizzo came away with the grand prize for his short film "Sunshine" featuring members of the Staten Island group Paul and the Tall Trees.

Runner up films included "Time Freak" by Andrew Bowler, the fashion commercial ready "Going Out West" by Casey RAnderson and "Laura" from Argentinian director Magdalena Baez. Notable visual art was presented by Brooklyn resident Matthew Keff as well as from artists Steven Strauss and Australia's Carl Giorgio.

Festival director Richard Hooban commented, "This year's festival program was one of the best. We are very fortunate to be able to offer Brooklyn such a variety of quality films from all over the world."

The Brooklyn Short Film Festival is regarded as New York's premiere short film festival, bringing together a roster of industry, media and emerging artists in an atmosphere focused on networking and building insider connections.
