)-- The North Carolina Comfort Zone Camp has announced that it will host its second annual Comfort Zone Camp for Kids Charity Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 19 at Brier Creek Country Club, located at 10404 Lumley Road, with registration starting at 10:30 a.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit North Carolina’s Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement camp that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver.

“This Golf Classic is a great way to raise awareness of the need to support children who are grieving for a loved one,” said Paul Holmes, managing partner for the Raleigh office of New York Life, sponsor of the Golf Classic. “We are honored to support this organization and appreciate the efforts of everyone who is involved.”
- The title sponsor for the event is New York Life. Other sponsors include key N.C. business and community leaders.
- Since 2008, the New York Life Foundation has awarded more than $3,000,000 to Comfort Zone Camp to extend the reach of the organization’s services and help raise the issue of grieving children to a national concern.
- The 2011 North Carolina camp will take place in December at Camp Kanata in Wake Forest, N.C.
- Sponsorships for the golf tournament are available from $100 to $5,000.
- Entrance is $200 per individual or $750 per foursome.
- Lunch w will be provided at noon with a dinner reception at 6:30 p.m.
