McDonald Volkswagen In Littleton, Colorado Launches Loner Bike Program

McDonald Volkswagen recently embarked on an innovative new way to get around while you wait for your car to get serviced.

Littleton, CO, June 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A Volkswagen dealership might seem like the last place you would go to develop some muscle, but with McDonald's bicycle loaner program customers now have the chance to get a workout while getting their car worked on.

McDonald Volkswagen is reinventing the concept of receiving a loaner when coming in for automotive service. Being without your vehicle can be an inconvenience, but it doesn't have to be. Not only can a customer receive a loaner car, but now they can use a loaner bicycle. A one-of-a-kind program, McDonald Volkswagen is giving customers the option to cut emissions while increasing their daily activity. Four brand new Trek bikes will be available, free of cost with any service. The bikes include shocks, a cushioned leather seat with matching handle bars. A lock and helmet is also complimentary in your size for your safety.

Denver is constantly ranked among the healthiest cities and has one of the most extensive trail systems in the country. There are plenty of places to ride with the dealership in close proximity to retail and restaurants. While service is being done, customers can shop, grab a bite or enjoy the Highline Canal which is only a half mile away.

Todd Dunbar, a service consultant has really seen the program steadily pick up since it started last month. "We have had really good feedback and everyone seems to be giving it thumbs up. We have already had a dozen or so people check them out."

Dunbar just recently had a husband and wife trade their four wheels in for two, when they took the bikes to their home in Highlands Ranch. Another customer took a bike on a 19-mile commute each way during his service.

With the bikes just feet from the customer service desk, it's easy to take advantage of the bike loaner program. Just grab a helmet and go. What could be better? You can tune up your body while you tune up your car.
