NBS Joins Telx Internet Peering Exchange

Reduced Costs and Better Network Performance to be Passed on to Customers

Wayne, NJ, June 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- NBS, a fully integrated communication services provider and telecom reseller, announced today that it has joined the Telx Internet Peering Exchange, a vital part of the Telx Interconnection Center family of services. The company now offers connectivity with Telx, on an advanced internet exchange, or public peering point, that allows ISP's to exchange internet or VoIP traffic cost-effectively through a shared switch. This public internet exchange point includes locations nationwide, but the New York facility alone is interconnected with the more than 400 other carriers, ISP's, Content Providers and Enterprise Networks that make up the IP Peering fabric. NBS has joined the Telx Internet Peering Exchange to help their customers’ Internet-connected businesses reduce operational costs, improve network performance, and add network resiliency.

"The Telx Internet Peering Exchange features a centralized Ethernet Switching fabric and infrastructure to enable companies to peer at speeds ranging from 1 Gbps (Gigabit Ethernet) to multiples of 10 Gbps,” said Glenn Calafati, VP of Interconnection Services for Telx. “By joining our exchange NBS can augment its own network and carrier alliances, creating even more choices with a full suite of products and services,” he added.

“Connecting to the growing number of content and service providers in the Telx Internet Peering Exchange simplifies complex service level interactions and allows us to leverage our continuing investment in IP and broadband technology,” said NBS’s CEO Jon Kaufman. “In our efforts to provide our end users with maximum flexibility, and service value, our Telx partnership allows us to pick and choose the carrier that makes the most sense for a particular application or location. As a result, less investment is needed to interconnect with our carrier partners and we are able to pass that savings along to our customers. Best of all, new carriers can be turned up instantly,” added Mr. Kaufman.
