New Intro to Wing Chun Kung Fu Boot Camp in Long Beach Will Leave You Punching and Kicking for More

West Coast Wing Chun's new "Intro to Wing Chun Boot Camp" teaches students the fundamentals of Wing Chun Kung Fu, a traditional martial art that works for real life self-defense, while challenging students to work hard and get fit.

Long Beach, CA, June 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- West Coast Wing Chun will offer an all new Intro to Wing Chun Boot Camp class starting July 7th in Long Beach, California which will be held on Thursdays from 8:00 pm. to 9:30 pm. Although, West Coast Wing Chun offers a complete Wing Chun curriculum, chief instructor Sifu Bryan Talbot designed an intensive three month training program for prospective students. Students must complete and pass this course to be accepted as an official West Coast Wing Chun family member and continue their studies. The boot camp is intended to prepare students for the discipline and physical and mental demands of a traditional martial art. The boot camp will contain rigorous technique based drills, practical applied Wing Chun techniques, Wing Chun principles and theories, the complete Siu Lim Tao form, as well as Qi Gong meditation.

Wing Chun's specialty is in close contact combat. Its effectiveness is achieved through its skill and science rather than brute strength. It teaches the student to overcome their opponents strength by optimal body positioning and correct usage of energy while taking advantage of the shortest possible distance between the practitioner and the opponent. Wing Chun is unique in that there are no set of predefined movements. Students practice Chi Sau or sticky hands, a form of training that helps the student develop a responsive reflex and develops sensitivity, or "reacting to feeling” rather than sight. Due to Wing Chun's effectiveness, this martial art makes for an optimum form of self defense and is the ideal martial art for women, as well as men. The principles, theories and techniques of Wing Chun may be applied in any fighting application.

Sifu Bryan Talbot has studied Wing Chun for the past twenty years, first, with the late Master Sifu Ron Heimberger and then, with Grandmaster Samuel Kwok. West Coast Wing Chun's lineage is an Ip Man familial lineage through Ip Man's two sons, Ip Chun and Ip Ching, then passed to Grandmaster Samuel Kwok to Sifu Bryan Talbot.
