ViX Swimwear Makes a Splash with New Mobile Site

World-renowned luxury swimwear brand leverages mobile commerce to grow revenues and enhance global reach.

San Diego, CA, July 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Global lifestyle brand ViX Swimwear recently launched m.VixSwimwear.com, a new mobile site that allows consumers to browse and purchase high-end, designer swimwear directly through personal mobile devices. Developed by digital agency Cuker Interactive, the new site takes the same core elements and extensive inventory as the ViX eCommerce site and optimizes it for mobile to provide an intuitive, user-friendly experience for smartphones and other devices.

With 74 million consumers in the United States already shopping from their mobile devices, mobile commerce is expected to rise to $9 billion in the US in 2011. Cuker Interactive’s original ViX Swimwear eCommerce site increased sales four-fold when it launched two years ago, and the brand looked to leverage this success to generate additional revenue through the rapidly expanding mobile channel.

"It’s clear that shoppers are using their smartphones to make purchases - as well as to research products, find retailer locations, and compare pricing," says Kelly Stacey, VP of Global Branding at ViX. "Our consumers in particular are sophisticated shoppers who love to have the newest fashions, exclusive offers and detailed product information delivered directly to their mobile devices."

The ViX mobile site was developed on the Web Cube CMS platform with ease and simplicity in mind. The intuitive navigation and search box feature make it easy to find products, and custom product descriptions and optimized photos make for straightforward mobile browsing. Simple size, style, and color options allow the customer to select the right swimsuit, and an efficient one-page checkout provides a streamlined shopping experience.

"It is important to provide an easy, simplified shopping experience on mobile that allows users to checkout quickly,” explains Aaron Cuker, CEO of Cuker Interactive. “Mobile is a different interface with specific user experience requirements and it has to be approached differently than desktop browsing in order to optimize conversions from mobile shoppers."

In addition to growing sales through mobile commerce, the new site will also help the ViX brand expand into additional markets and increase the customer base, as mobile users are now able to access the site and navigate through the product catalog from anywhere in the world.
