New Lay Catholic Prayer Book: Know God and Love Him Published by Outskirts Press

Catholic Council of Women volunteer Joanne Rypma has compiled a sequence of scriptural passages from the Old and New Testaments which will prove invaluable to lay ministers in their preparation for various spiritual gatherings.

Port St. Lucie, FL, July 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Joanne Rypma announced today, the release of Know God and Love Him, Prayers and Scripture, published by Outskirts Press. Recognizing the growing importance of the activities of lay ministers in the church, Rypma has put together this collection of scriptural passages to aid their delivery of religious truth and to increase the bond of love between them, the church and their service to others.

With a desire to help parishioners and lay ministers grow stronger in the delivery of service to others and to make that delivery more evident in their daily lives, Joanne Rypma has carefully selected a series of scriptural passages for weekend readings in the church for the liturgical years A, B and C. Each weekend has its own prayer listed in the book.

Rypma selected these readings to convey to parishioners the promises that God has made to mankind and his love for each person on earth. Reading or listening to these prayers, Rypma hopes, will lead to a deeper understanding of life and a life more fully lived in the goodness and service of God.

“We are in God’s eternal time and space always and yet we need our place in each other’s lives here in our earthly home,” says Rypma. Know God and Love Him allows readers and listeners to reflect on the truths found in these sacred texts and Rypma’s nicely considered selection of prayers will lead to a greater knowledge of Jesus and the Heavenly Father.

Those who have heard the call to the Word of God, Rypma believes, through books such as hers, are more likely to grow in holiness and then go out into the world and live their lives as lay ministers practicing and living that holiness.
