Westlake Village, CA, July 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Certified Financial Planner Elad Goren, co-founder of the financial advisement firm Financial Pointe and a community volunteer, has been elected Chairman of the Moorpark College Foundation.

Goren previously served as the Foundation’s Vice Chair; he succeeds Dan Peate who served as Foundation president three years.

“The Moorpark College Foundation experienced a major transition in recent years, and I thank Dan Peate for leading us through this period of change and setting the Foundation up for what I know will be great times ahead,” Goren said. “I look forward to the next few years to continue the momentum Dan established. Our goals are lofty and we have very exciting new programs approaching."

Goren said his top goals are two large new fund-raising events, Holiday Lights at Moorpark College on Dec. 3, and the Moorpark College Mud Run in spring 2012; and to expand the Foundation Board with quality members.

The Moorpark College Foundation provides a conduit for the College to interact with businesses, government, and other nonprofit agencies in the broader Southern California community.

“Elad Goren has been a leader with the Foundation for several years and the organization is excited that as Chairman of the Board of Directors he will assume even more leadership responsibilities toward helping Moorpark College and its students achieve greatness,” said Dr. Pam Eddinger, President of Moorpark College.

Also elected to serve as Officers for the Foundation Board were John C. Lindsey as Vice Chair; Timothy Weaver as Treasurer; and Allan C. Mann and Jodi Santino, both as Member-At-Large. Eddinger serves as the Board CEO/Secretary.
