Salem-Keizer Transit Selects Projectmates Construction Management Software for New Transit Center

Systemates announced today that Salem-Keizer Transit has implemented Projectmates 11.0, the industry's foremost online and collaborative construction management software. With its 100% web-based platform, Projectmates will improve project planning, execution, and close-out of the new transit center and park-and-ride.

Dallas, TX, July 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Systemates announced today that Salem-Keizer Transit has implemented Projectmates 11.0, the industry's foremost online and collaborative construction management software. After a comprehensive review process, Salem-Keizer Transit—better known as Cherriots—chose Projectmates to manage its design and construction program, starting with a new $8.1 million transit center and park-and-ride scheduled to open in 2012.

The new transit center and park-and-ride will feature 8-10 bus bays, approximately 70 park-and-ride spaces, and a 3,000 square-foot building that will house an operator break room and restroom facilities. The center has been strategically located to serve a multimodal function should commuter rail ever become a reality. In support of the organization's strategic plan, its goal is for this facility to achieve LEED accreditation.

"I'm really excited about having a system that allows the owner, consultant and contractors all access to the same information so that correspondence or documents are not lost," said Chad Fosnight, Capital Project Manager at Salem-Keizer Transit. "Having a central hub for this information and knowing which document is the most current will greatly reduce our redundancy as well as keep us more efficient. Finally, having the ability to access the system via my Smartphone when I am in the field will be a huge asset during the construction process."

Projectmates equips owners with tools for budget and financial management, scheduling, communication, and document management for improved project planning, execution, and delivery. Salem-Keizer Transit chose Projectmates to combat common issues that plague capital improvement projects, namely inefficiency, poor documentation, miscommunication, and no clear status of the project costs. Prior to implementing Projectmates construction management software, Salem-Keizer Transit relied largely on spreadsheets to track project costs, which proved to be time consuming and difficult to maintain.
