DLR Group Moving to Aksarben Village

The Omaha office of DLR Group is relocating to a three-story building it designed in the Aksarben Village mixed-use redevelopment.

Omaha, NE, July 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- DLR Group is relocating its Omaha office to Aksarben Village after 40 years at 400 Essex Court in Regency Park. The architecture and engineering firm will open its doors for business on Monday, July 18 in a new three-story building it designed at 6457 Frances.

DLR Group was a member of the team chosen to develop the master plan for Aksarben Village and is now a key business tenant within the urban mixed-use development.

“In 1972, DLR Group was a key anchor tenant when we moved into Regency Park,” said DLR Group Managing Principal Dale Hallock, AIA. “We were instrumental in the success of Regency, and history is repeating itself in Aksarben. DLR Group will be an active and visible member of the Aksarben Village community, which is a dynamic area and key our city’s future.”

The firm will occupy 21,000 SF on the second and third floors of the building. The floorplates are designed as an open work environment with mobile work stations to encourage a studio atmosphere. Both floors feature a large open space for collaboration with walkout balconies, and interior glass meeting rooms.

“This new space will evolve the design culture of DLR Group,” said Hallock. “The design floods the space with natural light and it’s open and full of color. Our vision is a more energetic space full of potential for the future of DLR Group in Omaha.”

6457 Frances is on pace for LEED Gold Certification. Sustainable elements include an abundance of natural light, direct and indirect lighting on photo sensors, tubular daylighting adds to the natural lighting on the third floor, under floor mechanical and electrical systems, low flow fixtures, native landscaping, infrastructure for a future green roof, and electrical vehicle charging stations.

“I am very excited to see the reaction of clients who are making this transition with us,” said DLR Group Principal Mark Brim, a key member of the 6457 Frances design team who has been in Omaha for 30 years. “The space is so much more open and inspiring. We will have more area to display work and for clients and staff to interact. I can’t wait to see how it elevates our design and ability to enhance collaboration with clients."
