JTM Food Group Introduces New Turkey and Sandwich Offerings at 2011 School Nutrition Association (SNA) Conference
JTM showcases dozens of new products to more than 7,000 attendees at 2011 SNA national conference at Nashville’s Opryland Resort. JTM, which provides menu items to more than 12.8 million K-12 students across the U.S., has focused its research and development efforts on creating healthier school menu options, reducing sodium by an average of 35 percent in its school menu products in just the past year alone.
“Attendance at the SNA National Conference was as high as it’s been in 10 years,” said Jack Maas, Jr., Vice President, Sales, for JTM Food Group. “We take a lot of pride in developing new products that meet and exceed consumer demands and are in line with key trends. The SNA show provided a terrific forum for showcasing our new products and reinforcing our commitment to flavorful and healthier menu options for students and schools.”
Highlighting JTM’s SNA new product launch was an expansive list of new turkey and sandwich offerings and alfredo sauce, all to positive reviews.
“We heard significant interest this week from food service professionals on the great taste of our turkey burger and our alfredo sauce which we showed as chicken alfredo pasta,” added Maas. “We also had many discussions about a variety of trending topics – such as speed scratch cooking and a sharper focus on regional fresh vegetables and fruit – that we’ll continue to factor into our ongoing product development work. The conference really validated our current approach and gave us some great insights for future offerings.”
JTM provides a delicious turkey burger as part of a complete line of high quality turkey products for schools and a variety of other food service operations. New turkey products recently introduced include Reduced Sodium Turkey Meatballs, Turkey Taco Filling, Shredded Chipotle Turkey, Turkey Spaghetti Meat Sauce, Turkey Italian Pasta Sauce and the Turkey Sausage Patty Sandwich individually wrapped on a Whole Grain English Muffin.
New sandwich offerings include a variety of individually wrapped sandwiches, such as Twin Pack Mini Jalapeño Pepperjack Cheeseburgers, Beef Sausage Patty Biscuit Sandwich, a Pork Sausage Patty Whole-Grain English Muffin Sandwich, and a Turkey Sausage Patty Whole-Grain Maple Pancake Sandwich. Other new products showcased at the SNA conference included:

- Asian Pork & Beef Fingers with a Teriyaki Glaze
- “Level 2” Macaroni & Cheese (featuring a sodium reduction of more than 50%)
- IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) Beef, Pork and Turkey crumbles (all allergen free with no added ingredients)
- Mexican Macaroni and Cheese
