Supply & Demand Chain Executive Announces Its 2007 Pros to Know: Sergio Retamal CEO of Global 4PL Awarded Provider to Know

Oakland, CA, March 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine, leading business magazine and the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, this week announced the seventh-annual listing of Pros to Know in its February/March 2007 issue.

This year Supply & Demand Chain Executive is recognizing 22 Practitioner Pros to Know. The Practitioner Pros to Know is a listing of exceptional corporate executives at manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises who are driving the transformation initiatives and achieving the bottom-line successes that are helping Supply Chain earn recognition as a true strategic partner to the business.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive also has released its list of 2007 Provider Pros to Know. The Supply & Demand Chain Executive Provider Pros to Know is a listing of individuals from a software firm or service provider, consultancy, or analyst or research firm who have personally helped raise the profile of Supply Chain and increase the recognition of the importance of Supply Chain as a strategic function within the enterprise.

This year’s top Provider Pro to Know of the Year is awarded to the Bay Area World Trade Center’s own Sergio Retamal, President and CEO of Global 4PL Supply Chain Management.

Mr. Retamal’s work has been recognized by several organizations. He was awarded the 2005 Executive of the Year by the International Transportation Association.  Global4PL was listed as one of 16 companies to watch by the 2006 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine. Mr. Retamal was invited to present his Direct to United States Customer From Singapore program in Hong Kong at the World Development Congress—Supply Chain Management Forum: Creating Strategic Partnerships in Asia. Other presenters at this event included current United States Vice President, the Prime Minister of Hong Kong, and the vice presidents of logistics for Microsoft and Polaroid corporations.  

Mr. Retamal’s teaching experience includes teaching and board member positions at multiple campuses of the California State University. He taught Global Operations Management at the California State University, Northridge, where he also was a board member for the logistics management program. He taught Modern Management at the California State University, Fullerton, at the University of Extended Education.

Mr. Retamal further has advanced the study and practice of supply chain management through his role as board member for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. In this capacity, he has helped promote the CSCMP and the supply chain industry as President, vice president of programs and as educational chair.
