AccuRev SCM Wins Jolt Product Excellence Award in Software Change and Configuration Management Category

First Software Configuration Management Vendor to Win Two Jolt Product Excellence Awards

Lexington, MA, March 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- AccuRev Inc. today announced that Dr. Dobb’s Journal has chosen AccuRev as the winner of the 17th Annual Jolt Product Excellence Awards in the Software Change and Configuration Management category. This is the third Jolt Award AccuRev has received in the last four years, having won both the Jolt Product Excellence and Jolt Productivity Awards previously.

AccuRev was awarded top honors by a team of Dr. Dobb’s editors, columnists and industry experts who felt that AccuRev ‘jolted’ the industry in 2006 with significant new features for managing geographically distributed, parallel and agile development environments. AccuRev was selected over seven other finalists, including Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Perforce SCM, both runners up.

Supporting geographically distributed and parallel development with outsourced, offshore or co-located teams is not easily accomplished with traditional file-based, branch and label SCM tools. Development processes, resources, methodologies, and priorities often change during the lifecycle of a software project. Additionally, many organizations are beginning to adopt more Agile-based methodologies that will eventually require better defined and more automated processes. AccuRev allows teams to establish and automate their desired workflow and release process, and manage it transparently in real time, from one location across the entire software development infrastructure.

“Our prestigious Jolt Judges are recognized as forward-looking gurus, who provide insight into the latest and most promising industry trends. They define who is ahead of the curve, honoring products that are universally useful; that are simple, yet rich in functionality; that redefine their product space; or solve a nagging problem that has consistently eluded other products. Our judges and their decisions is one of the major reasons the Jolts are so coveted,” commented Dr. Dobb’s Awards and Events Manager Rosalyn Lum.

Lorne Cooper, CEO, AccuRev Inc. added, “This Jolt Award is an industry acknowledgement of the major advancements made in our software configuration management product line in 2006. We look forward to extending our product leadership, and continuing to replace legacy SCM tools in the enterprise this year and beyond.”
