Publisher Finds Success with New Marketing Technique

Code Publishing conducted a book bomb in order to increase visibility for their new book.

Austin, TX, July 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Small publisher, Code Publishing has had recent success with best sellers “Gods of Ruin: A Political Thriller” and “Juggernaut: Why the System Crushes the Only People Who Can Save It.” But for its latest novel, “Chaos and Kingdom: A Financial Thriller” (http://www.amazon.com/Chaos-Kingdom-Financial-Thriller-Morse/dp/1600200516/?tag=thestateofart-20) they wanted to try a new marketing technique: the book bomb.

“A book bomb is a concentrated purchase of one particular book at one particular time,” Code Director of Marketing Jenny Langley said. “Instead of broadly targeting buyers at random times, we asked those readers who were interested in buying the book to hold off their purchase until one time when everyone would participate at the same time.”

The benefits include higher sales ranking in the online retailer web sites and higher visibility at the time of the book bomb.

Code was pleased with its results. “For ‘Chaos and Kingdom,’ We saw a jump from 800,000 to nearly 4,000 in a matter of two hours. We will definitely pursue this style of marketing in the future.”

Small publishers may find these techniques rewarding. “Since we don’t have millions of dollars to market our books like some of the other publishers, we rely on smart marketing as opposed to brute mass marketing.”

“Chaos and Kingdom: A Financial Thriller” is available exclusively on Amazon.com.
