Dr. David Nelson, based in Alaska, receives a 5-star rating for providing excellent customer service, leading to a second consecutive customer satisfaction award.

Homer, AK, July 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Earning a 5-star rating for the second year in a row, David E. Nelson, D.D.S. has received the prestigious 2011 CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award for providing excellent customer service.

The award, presented by Talk of the Town News, Customer Care News magazine and Celebration Media, honors companies and professionals that provide excellent customer service as reported by their customers through no-cost, user-review websites, blogs, social networks, business rating services, and other honors and accolades. This data is analyzed by a team of researchers and converted into a star rating; only those that receive a 4-star to 5-star rating receive the Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award.

David E. Nelson, D.D.S. opened his practice, NDI Dental Care, in Homer, Alaska, in 2007, although he’d been practicing dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisc., since 1980. Since that time, Dr. Nelson has been on the forefront of technology, offering the latest to patients with a full range of dental services. Dr. Nelson’s practice was one of the first to offer DIAGNOdent (laser decay detection), digital radiographs, the VELscope for enhanced oral cancer detection, minimally invasive preventative and restorative dentistry, surgical placement of dental implants and restorations, oral conscious sedation, and Invisalign orthodontics.

In addition to providing high-tech services, Dr. Nelson’s practice offers a warm and comfortable environment for patients. The office is beautifully appointed for optimal relaxation, with spectacular views of the mountains and Kachemak Bay from each “wellness pod.” Patients are offered refreshments, including fresh-roasted coffees, organic teas, fresh fruit juices, and an assortment of seasonal organic fruits, cookies and breakfast bars. Fluffy blankets, hypoallergenic pillows, earphones and CD players, and noise-reduction headsets are also available.

Dr. Nelson and his team are experienced dental professionals offering excellent care and imaginative solutions for those who want healthy, beautiful smiles. “We focus on ‘patient-centered care,’” says Dr. Nelson. “Excellent customer service means listening to what our patients want, delivering predictable excellence, going the extra mile and putting ourselves in their shoes to deliver superior service.”

The practice truly considers its patients and their every need. Many of the patients travel hundreds of miles within the state of Alaska to reach the practice. Some patients have even continued to travel from the U.S. mainland to benefit from Dr. Nelson’s expertise and care. “We often suggest combining the vacation of a lifetime with your new smile makeover,” says Dr. Nelson. “We are pleased to offer the assistance of a dental concierge to help with lodging and travel accommodations when traveling from a distance.”

Community is also important to Dr. Nelson, and he and his staff donate time and resources on an ongoing basis. Recently, they finished a complete smile makeover for a winner of the “Give Back A Smile” program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. This program is designed to help women who have been victims of domestic violence. Dr. Nelson and his team were able to volunteer together with dental labs and dental implant companies to give back a smile to the winning recipient. Dr. Nelson has also performed Head Start screenings for more than 27 years and remains committed to teaching and encouraging fellow dental health practitioners to get involved and stay involved.

Dr. Nelson is actively involved in many groups including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists, and The International Association of Mercury Free Dentists.

Dr. Nelson and his staff are thrilled to have received a 5-star rating and the CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award for the second year in a row and thank their patients who made that possible.

“This award will allow more people to know of our dental office and the level of care available to them here in Alaska,” says Dr. Nelson. “We’ll continue to strive to deliver impeccable service combined with clinical excellence, and hopefully they, too, will be added to our wonderful patient base.”
