Fifteen Years Have Not Erased the Memories of Waco

Denver, CO, March 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press is pleased to bring you Killer Cain by Oklahoma City native Bryan Foreman. It is the story of John Cain, a veteran ATF agent who is still haunted by the horrors of Ruby Ridge and the Waco massacre.

“I have always been fascinated with the Ruby Ridge and Waco killings,” says Foreman, “particularly the attitudes of the agents involved—how they burst onto the scenes like a pack of modern-day cowboys, dead-set on annihilating everything in their paths. Their actions were the inspiration for Killer Cain.”

Inspired by such history, Foreman has created the multi-leveled character of John Cain. A participant of both Ruby Ridge and Waco, Cain is as bad-assed as they come; but what makes the character of Cain stand above the genre is how Foreman has taken the time show his inner side, to explore how he has changed both mentally and spiritually over the years. Somewhat repressed, Cain buries himself in his work to keep from dealing with the past; but no matter how hard he works, he can’t keep the nightmares from creeping in when he is most vulnerable.

Finally, Cain encounters an adversary who forces him to face the demons of his past once and for all. Bobby Ray Hooker is an infamous gun-dealer—a skinhead and religious fanatic with an evil streak as dark as they come. How far will Cain go to capture this enemy? Will he stick to the rules, or make them up as he goes along?

Says Foreman: “In my mind, Waco and Ruby Ridge represent government intrusion at its most horrific, and the story deals with that issue as well. All of the underhanded surveillance techniques and clever gadgets that the agents use to track down their suspects are present throughout.”

In these days of global and domestic terrorism, when the government’s actions are scrutinized more than ever, Bryan Foreman has created a novel and a character that will make you look twice at the men and women who protect our country and our freedoms.
