It's a Habit Company Releases Animated Music Video That Asks President Obama, Congress "To Save and Not Mess with Children’s Futures Cause Debt Stinks"

Debt ceiling discussions motivate children financial author to release animated music video encouraging saving.

Los Angeles, CA, July 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As President Obama, Democrats, Republicans, and Tea Party members debate the debt ceiling and cut, cap and balance proposals, the It's a Habit Company, a Los Angeles based financial education publishing enterprise has released its first animated music video featuring children storybook character, Sammy Rabbit. The gospel style music encourages families to Save and avoid debt.

"The message is catchy and clear," shared children author and It’s a Habit Company founder, Sam X Renick. "Saving builds us up. It makes us strong. It helps us achieve goals and dreams. Debt stinks! It destroys our future."

The dynamic author and character team have spent the last decade traveling the world educating and entertaining over a quarter million people with songs and stories that share simple but profound messages on money management like saving is a great habit, from every dollar, save a dime, don't spend more than you make and change adds up.

Parents, Congress, and the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability may want to take note, Sammy’s strategy is working. A research project utilizing his programs and products conducted over a two year period by the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension titled “Parents and Teachers as Wealth Coaches” resulted in positive outcomes in knowledge for both elementary age students and their teachers.

“These messages have never been more timely or crucial,” said Renick. “We are on a mission. If children are going to have any chance to overcome the massive amounts of debt we are incurring and realize any of their dreams, we are going to need to reach them early. It is incumbent upon us as adults and leaders to provide them with information and knowledge so they can defend themselves and build strong, free and independent lives.”

The S-A-V-E music video is available free on YouTube. The song is one of more than 20 original tunes It's a Habit has developed to make financial education fun. Other song titles include Debt Stinks, Rainy Day, and Big Old Dream. The Los Angeles based entrepreneurs have earned numerous awards for their innovative approach to financial empowerment including the Dove Family Foundation’s highest rating – 5 Doves.
