Female Fronted Band "The Blissful Mop" to Release Debut 5 Track EP on Expat Records

The EP entitled "Seventeen," showcases a variety of musical styles from the UK band and includes the anthemic, string-laden "Monsters." Seventeen is due for general release on 22nd August 2011.

London, United Kingdom, August 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Blissful Mop is a collaboration between singer/lyricist Bliss Nayler and guitarist/composer Joe Inkpen. The Blissful Mop create songs that are characterised by heavy rock riffs, soaring orchestral arrangements and deeply personal lyrics.

Beginning their writing partnership when the duo was in school, The Blissful Mop made its return in 2010 armed with new material and huge ambitions. The Blissful Mop have been continually building their fan base and have been playing various live gigs both as an acoustic duo or a full band set up, calling on the talents of bassist Glenn McDougall and drummer Matt Davis.

The song writing relationship of Bliss and Joe draws on a wide variety of experiences using a combination of heartfelt lyrics, complex harmony and orchestral arrangements. The band reference Skunk Anansie, Cardiacs, Oceansize and Mogwai as influences.
