Los Angeles, CA, August 06, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- Following more than six months of development and preparation, OTV Media Group announced today the official launch of OTV, its new 24-hour IPTV linear channel.
OTV broadcasts World News Plus, a 24/7 news and information service in a news magazine format, interlaced with Cinema Holistica, an entertainment service featuring programming from OTV’s library. Both services deliver content from a Body Mind Spirit perspective.
OTV World News Plus segments feature rotating, in-studio anchors reporting stories on the following topics: Current Affairs, Earth & Science, Love & Relationships, Metaphysics, Natural Health, Personal Growth, Spirituality and Visionary Art.
OTV Media Group also owns and operates OTV’s sister channel, Oasis TV On Demand, which is currently available nationwide in 10 million cable and satellite homes.
OTV Chairman and former Time Warner Chairman/CEO Gerald Levin, calls the new network “one of a kind,” adding, “There’s simply nothing else like this available. I’m also a big fan of its content. And I always like being first to market.”
Robert Schnitzer, OTV Founder and Chief Executive Officer, especially likes the cross-platform tie-in potential. “OTV’s fast-paced format also allows viewers to preview various shows from our 600-plus hour library, then watch the programs in their entirety on Oasis TV On Demand,” said Schnitzer.
OTV originates from studios at its headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. The online video feed is provided by Livestream.com.
Schnitzer also said that OTV is preparing for aggressive expansion. “The demand for so-called ‘conscious media’ has always been there. Our research shows hundreds of millions of people around the world are hungry for our content,” he explained. “By year’s end, OTV will be on smart televisions, Internet video players such as Roku and Boxee, as well as iPhone, iPads, Android and other smartphone and tablet devices.”
“OTV is the premier global information destination for Body Mind Spirit programming service on all media platforms. Our mission is to help make the world a happier, healthier and more peaceful planet by delivering entertaining and inspiring content. It’s updated daily and is absolutely free,” said Schnitzer.
