)-- The Chocolate Festival is being organised by the town of Béziers in association with the Béziers Mediterranean Tourist Office. Laurent Carratié, a patissier-choclatier from the Béziers area, is the technical advisor. The island of Sao Tome and Principe, known as "chocolate island," will once again be sponsoring the event. Other companies taking part include Tables Gourmandes, France Bleu Hérault and Cluizel.
Chocolate Hall will be open from 10am to 7pm and more than 20 exhibitors will be showing their wares, including leading chocolatiers , distributors and beauticians. Everything from gourmet confections to chocolate soap will be on show. There are also free chocolate tastings, chocolate-making demonstrations and chocolate massages on offer for visitors. There’s also a chocolate-themed bookshop.
Free entertainment will include wine and chocolate workshops, cookery demonstrations by top chefs and gourmet chocolate artists, candy-making and chocolate-moulding classes, Fimo modelling and activities for children, ranging from story-telling to face painting with chocolate.
Conference themes will tackle topics such as: "Chocolate, an anti-depressent?" and "Will chocolate really make you fat?" Visitors can also find out about the History of Chocolate and uncover the secrets of the cocoa bean.
The Chocolate Festival will be open to the public on 15-16 October from 10 am to 7pm
