Dallas, TX, August 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Mecca Design and Production, a leading event and trade show exhibit design group, has been chosen to build an interactive courthouse for The Discovery Science Place in Tyler, Texas. The courthouse, sponsored by the Smith County and Texas Bar Foundation, as well as Ron Mabry Architecture and Jacobe Brothers Construction, promises to be the centerpiece of the Hometown U.S.A. experience at the children's museum. The design is similar to the original downtown Smith County Courthouse, constructed in 1909. The exhibit is expected to install September 2011 in Tyler, Texas.

In addition to offering an immersive experience for guests of all ages to see a courthouse from the inside, the partnership between The Discovery Science Place and CASA of East Texas and Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County intends to provide a hand's on, role-play experience for children who may need to visit a courtroom.

Jim Cox, Exhibits Manager at The Discovery Science Place, shared, "Continuing the possibilities for role-playing, the courthouse will be the focal point in our interactive Hometown U.S.A. exhibit and will be educational as well as entertaining."
