ATEN Debuts One-Box Control Solution Designed for Remote Kiosk Management and Support

The KN1000 KVM over the NET combines KVM over IP, remote power /serial console management and virtual media functionality.

New Taipei City, Taiwan, August 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- ATEN International, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, today debuted a new one-box remote control solution that provides KVM over IP, remote power and serial console management as well as virtual media functionality. The ATEN KN1000 KVM Over the NET offers remote kiosk management and support by enabling users to monitor and access their computers from remote locations using a Web browser.

The KN1000 taps into the increasing demand for self-service kiosks, which have come to the forefront recently as a convenient and popular method for point of sale transactions and customer support. The KN1000 is a reliable and cost-effective product to remotely access and manage widely distributed multiple computer installations, such as kiosks, ATMs, retail environments, factory automation and unmanned remote sites.

To help users manage and control kiosks and servers/computers, the KN1000's built-in power outlet provides remote power management (on, off and rebooting). Users can configure network switches and other serial control devices through the KN1000’s serial console functionality. The KN1000’s virtual media functionality allows users to perform diagnostic testing, file transfer, as well as OS and application patches from a remote console. There is no need to physically load a CD directly onto the server to perform data-related tasks. The KN1000 also enables convenient and efficient troubleshooting, allowing users to resolve any problems at the BIOS level from anywhere.

"The KN1000 is useful not only in a variety of consumer-facing environments such as retail and banking but also shows utility in industrial settings," explained Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. "For instance, the KN1000 can be leveraged in factory/manufacturing installations where users can access and configure computers located in hazardous environments from a remote, safe location. Our kiosk management solution is versatile, providing users with a wide gamut of features to manage kiosks and unmanned computers in a broad range of industries with a variety of applications."
