The sequence of events will start Monday, September 5th from 14:00-16:00 during Oral Session #3: New Methods for Consumer Research. The presentation, entitled An Approach to Harness the Treasures in Social Media: Behavior-Driven Framework of the Barbeque Occasion, will be delivered by Alexa Williams, Research Manager at Frito-Lay R&D, PepsiCo with co-presenter, Alec Maki, Vice President of Product Development at InsightsNow. During the session, Williams and Maki will discuss the importance of using non-traditional research methods, like social media, and how, through social media mining, Frito-Lay was able to identify opportunities for innovation around the Barbeque occasion.

Later in the week, Dave Lundahl, President and Chief Executive Officer at InsightsNow, will deliver a talk entitled Going Beyond Liking: The “So What” About Emotions for Guidance Research. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 7th from 14:00-16:00 during Oral Session #9: New Methods for Consumer Research – Emotions. Throughout Lundahl’s presentation, he will discuss the changes related to product guidance and the need to put emotions theory into practice, in order to go beyond measures of liking to create greater insights.
