)-- Scott Brady, Publisher of the Overland Journal, announced today that the respected publication has established widespread retail distribution across both the United States, and Canada.
“With our Fall issue, which is currently printing, we will be available at most of the premier periodical outlets in North America,” said Brady. “The majority of our readership is still via subscribers, but this will allow us to introduce the Overland Journal, and indeed the overlanding concept and lifestyle, to a whole new group of readers.”
Printing since the Spring of 2007, Overland Journal has established a passionate following among outdoor enthusiasts who recognize their vehicles as a tool to carry them further on their adventures. The magazine inspires readers to explore their world, whether on a weekend trip 100 miles from home or a cross-continental expedition in another hemisphere. Importantly, the magazine recognizes there are places where motorized vehicles simply don't belong, and encourages further exploration by bicycle, kayak, canoe, and backpack. In-fact, Mr. Brady was reached for the above comment via satellite-phone from the Sonoran Desert, in the midst of a week-long overland expedition.

This means that Overland Journal costs a little more than some other publications, but our readers tell us they are happy knowing this results in unbiased reviews, and the ability to feature the stories and gear our readers want to know about, not what some corporation wants to push into the media.”
The fall issue of Overland Journal will be on shelves in Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Chapters, and independent retailers by the end of August 2011. It retails at $10 per copy.
