Flippin’ Pizza Raises Dough to Support Tony Hawk Foundation Skatepark Building Efforts

North County Pizzeria Rewards Fans and Gets Social While Raising Funds for Vista Skatepark Project

San Diego, CA, September 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Flippin’ Pizza, North County’s staple pizzeria known for its community outreach programs, is supporting the Tony Hawk Foundation in its efforts to create high-quality skateparks in low-income communities across the United States. Throughout the month of September, Flippin’ Pizza’s four North County locations will donate a percentage of proceeds to the Tony Hawk Foundation and the building of the Vista Skatepark.

To further rally community support and excitement for the project, Flippin’ Pizza is rewarding its fans. Now through the end of September, Flippin’ Pizza customers will receive a scratch-off card with every purchase. Scratch-off cards will award guests the opportunity to win free menu items ranging from a free slice to a free pie. One lucky fan will win free pizza for a year.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Tony Hawk Foundation’s fundraising efforts for the fourth consecutive year,” said Patrick Farley, president and CEO of Flippin’ Pizza. “North County community members and Flippin’ Pizza fans can win awesome prizes and support a great cause by enjoying their favorite pie or slice.”

Flippin’ Pizza is also inviting fans to get social and join in on the fun by participating in its "Show Us How You Skate" promotion. Starting today, fans can upload photos of themselves skateboarding on Flippin’ Pizza’s Facebook fan page and be automatically entered to win prizes such as a free slice, a free lunch special, a free pie or a Tony Hawk signed skateboard deck. Fans are also invited to attend Flippin’ Pizza’s skateboard trivia “Tweet-Up” party Thursday, Sept. 22. The winner of skateboard trivia will receive two tickets to the Tony Hawk Foundation’s DaGeDar Presents Stand Up for Skateparks’ event in Beverly Hills Sunday, Oct. 2.

About Flippin’ Pizza and Knockout Pizzeria:
Knockout Pizzeria’s unique pizza recipe originated in Sicily over 30 years ago. The craze over this pizza in New York made it apparent that the West Coast was missing out and thus, Knockout Pizzeria of Carlsbad was born. Flippin’ Pizza was launched in 2007 as Patrick Farley, owner of the original Knockout Pizzeria of Carlsbad, expanded his concept to more pizzerias in North San Diego County. It is the mission of Knockout Pizzeria and Flippin’ Pizza to be the neighborhood pizzerias that provide a true slice of New York to every customer who walks through their doors.
