ACS Construction Improve Communication with Workspace mini

ACS Construction, a civil engineering company, has adopted Workspace mini as a solution to the need for improved communication throughout the business.

Nottingham, United Kingdom, September 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- ACS Construction is a civil engineering company specialising in groundwork, primarily in health, education and more recently private development sectors. Established 11 years ago, by the two current Directors, ACS Construction have approximately 20 office staff as well as operatives working out in the field. Moving away from their sub-contractor roots, and into the main contractor field, ACS Construction has recognised the need for improved communication throughout the business.

With a whole host of certifications and qualifications ACS Construction strives to be the best, and has good processes in place to organise the business. The problem ACS Construction faces, common across the industry, is the lack of unity between these processes. As Commercial Manager David Curran explains, “We need to pull the business together effectively. There’s a bit of a silo mentality, with everyone working efficiently in their own area but failing to link together. We need to break these barriers and that’s why we are implementing Workspace mini.”

Mr Curran had looked into implementing Workspace at his previous organisation and knew the benefits it could bring to the business. Workspace mini is the leading knowledge management software for small to medium businesses in the construction industry supply chain. It stores project information in one central repository against projects, organisations and contacts. “What appeals most is the fact that Workspace is specifically focused on the construction industry and is geared up to the way we run our business with little need for modification,” Mr Curran explains.

With one week to go before Workspace goes live across the business, staff are excited about the change. “I think some people are probably a bit apprehensive,” says Mr Curran, “but generally they all recognise the problems and are looking forward to the solution.”

The immediate benefits ASC Construction hope to realise as a result of implementing Workspace mini are better email management (both archiving and distribution), more organised contact management and improved information sharing throughout the business. “As our work takes us further afield the need to communicate better and share information is fundamental. With Workspace mini we will be able to share documents, contacts and emails simply and efficiently. This will allow us to spend more time with our customers and respond to their requests quickly,” Mr Curran concludes.
