Sarasota Youth Opera to Perform in April

The Sarasota Youth Opera will perform its final concert of the season at Bayshore High School on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. Works by Bizet, Verdi, Copland, Foster and Giordano will be included.

Sarasota, FL, April 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Sarasota Youth Opera will perform its final concert of the season at Bayshore High School on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. The concert will serve as a fund-raiser for the Youth Opera program. Some members of the Treble/Mixed Chorus also will participate in the International Choral Festival in Tuscany, Italy this summer.

The performance will include: “Chorus of Street Urchins” from Bizet’s Carmen; “Two Willow Hill” from Copland’s The Second Hurricane; “Chorus of Shepherdesses” from Giordano’s Andrea Chenier; “Va Pensiero” from Verdi’s Nabucco; and “Far over the Misty Mountains,” a sneak preview of the American premiere of Burry’s The Hobbit, to be performed by the Sarasota Youth Opera in May 2008.

The Sarasota Youth Opera Choruses will perform under the direction of Youth Opera Music Director Lance Inouye, with piano accompaniment by Kristen Conn. The program is administered by Stuart Holt, Director of Youth Opera Programs.

Tickets for the April 21 concert will be available at the door. The suggested donation is $5 per person. Bayshore High School is at 5401 34th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34210.
