Los Angeles, CA, September 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- 3000 Mile Productions, an independent film production company, announces the development of "Last Rights," a new 24-episode web series. To raise funds for the first level of financing, 3000 mile productions is taking the unique step of placing their project on kickstarter.com, the largest online funding platform for creative projects in the world. Fans of the project can make contributions to the production of the project, which goes entirely to the final funding of the web series. Contributors will receive benefits based on their level of donation receiving everything from a DVD of the entire web series to, executive credits, and small business sponsorships.

Last Rights features 24, 6-minute webisodes about a house in which 4 caretakers test their guests to see who leaves and who dies.

"Last Rights is an opportunity for us to present something creative and new; a kind of 'Lost-meets-Harry Potter' packaged as a web series," says Jason Dallas, head of development at 3000 Mile Productions. "This is the first time we've used kickstarter.com for funding, and are excited to see how many people will get involved with this project and look forward to working with each contributor."

Last Rights explores the struggle of those who have answered an ad and accepted a deal from a negotiator named Concord. Concord negotiates to allow access to Nirvana, where all worldly troubles disappear. In exchange, those who accept must give him all worldly possessions and stay in a house for one week. In the house are four caretakers that test each participant to see if they qualify for Nirvana or if they end up in the graveyard behind the house.

The episodes explore questions of faith, morality, tolerance, and common sense. Each week, Concord returns to the house to evaluate the participants and decide the fate of each guest and of the caretakers.
