Everyone an Author: Personal Memories in eBooks

Boston, MA, September 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Instebooks, a personal publishing start-up, today announced updates to its Android eBook apps, making it possible for anyone with an Android device to author multiple eBooks. “Everyone will author at least one eBook in their lives,” said Richard Reece, CEO of Instebooks. “eBooks are perfect for saving memories and telling stories about one’s interests, activities, and events for friends and families.”

Instebooks leverages the advanced digital eBook platform to update how people save and share personal stories. “In eBooks users can tell a complete story,” said Reece. “Instebooks’ eBooks include references, maps, a who’s who, and an index, making it comparable to professional biographies.”

Authoring a personal story with Instebooks is fast and easy because Instebooks publishes right from the mobile phone. “With Instebooks you can publish an entire eBook in less time than it takes to make a cup of coffee,” said Reece. Instebooks lets users create stories on the go by simply selecting images and speaking. “One of the really great features is that you can write your story by just talking,” said Reece. “It’s true storytelling.” In addition to converting the speech to text, Instebooks also automatically indexes the content, then adds maps, a table of contents, encyclopedia entries and a unique custom cover to every eBook.

Instebooks offers more than 50 publishing apps in the Android market, each with a different theme and content relevant to the stories the user wants to tell. “Our Cooking app contains great references on cooking techniques and tools, while Gardening provides entries for the avid gardener to use in their stories.”

This extra content combined with the advanced eBook platform makes personal stories, memories, and tall tales more interesting for the designated audience—usually friends and family. By including a narrative hyperlinked with informative references, readers get a more complete awareness of Instebooks user’s lives and stories. “Your readers may not love to cook, but with Instebooks eBooks they can get a better understanding of your passion.” The eBook platform also lets readers see when they were part of the author’s story. “In the who’s who index, readers can look themselves up, see a list of all the moments they shared with the author, and then jump to those stories,” said Reece. “That’s something that’s only possible in eBooks.”

Instebooks eBooks aren’t for commercial audiences-- yet. “So far these eBooks are for your personal and Facebook audiences,” said Reece. “But we can see communities of eBook authors emerging around topics like Hiking or Cooking that may gather broader audiences, similar perhaps to YouTube videos.”

Instebooks makes it possible for anyone to share stories by delivering a new advanced platform to satisfy a very old need. “It’s inevitable, eBooks are the future of personal storytelling,” said Reece. “Already Amazon sells more eBooks than regular books-- if you’re reading Dan Brown on your eReader why not your own stories?”
