)-- For the third consecutive year, India House has earned a 5-star rating and the prestigious CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award in the Restaurants category.
The Talk of the Town Awards, presented by Talk of the Town News, Customer Care News magazine and Celebration Media, honor companies and professionals that provide excellent customer service as reported by their customers through no-cost, user-review websites, blogs, social networks, business rating services, and other honors and accolades. This data is analyzed by a team of researchers and converted into a star rating; only those that receive a 4-star to 5-star rating receive the Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award.
India House is a family-owned and family-run fine Indian cuisine restaurant serving both North Indian and South Indian food made with all fresh ingredients, herbs and spices. The daily lunch buffet (served from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) includes such dishes as Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Vindaloo and vegetarian/vegan entrees, including Allo Gobi, Channa Masala, Mixed Vegetables, Okra Masala and Palak Sag Samosa. Additionally, the restaurant has belly dancing on Friday and Saturday nights.
“This is a family business, and the customers are our family, too,” says Daljit Sandhu, who bought the restaurant in August 2007 along with his two sons. “I never claim to be the owner; the customers own this place. Every India House customer is a custodian of the restaurant.”
Really authentic food and service: those are the hallmarks of India House. “We personally go and buy all the food at local stores and farmers’ markets, and everything is made in house fresh; no prepared foods are brought in,” says Sandhu. “Our family cooks; there are no other chefs in the kitchen.”
In addition to the high-quality food, what truly sets the restaurant apart is the friendly service. The family makes sure that every customer is greeted with a smile, both coming and leaving. “I personally welcome everybody at the door and wish them well when they are leaving,” says Sandhu. “If you can put a smile on the customer’s face when they enter the restaurant, that makes a difference.”
Its food and service have both earned India House a host of awards during the past several years. In addition to three consecutive CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Awards, the restaurant has won Best Indian Food in The Best of the Best Readers’ Choice Awards given by The Folsom Telegraph and El Dorado Hills Telegraph, and one of FolsomLiving.com’s Folsom All Stars for Best Indian Cuisine. Since 2006 it has won the TV KCRA-3 A-List Award, and also the Best of the Best Indian by Folsom El Dorado Hills Style magazine for 2011.
