Farrell’s Features Fantabulous Fundraisers with Financial Flair

Farrell’s to host workshops to help schools learn how to replace funds lost to budget cuts.

Mission Viejo, CA, September 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlours in Mission Viejo has become the fundraising powerhouse for many local schools and organizations.

Last school year, Chapparal Elementary School raised $1,000, Portola Hills raised over $845 and Melinda Heights and Valencia Elementary both raised over $600 all in one night’s work of fundraising. This month, Farrell’s will be hosting a workshop for local schools the mornings of September 20, 21 and 22 where they will be discussing successful ways to promote and host school fundraisers.

“In order for a fundraiser to be successful, the event has to be fun, relevant and of interest to the students and their parents,” said Cathy Nail, General Manager of the Mission Viejo Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour. “The most successful fundraisers we’ve held have all had a clear goal presented. For example, Chapparal School needed funds to help keep their music program going. As an incentive we gave them a challenge that if they reached their goal they could make their principal or teacher into a 'human sundae.' This caused their event to be very successful,” Nail added.

Invitations have already gone out to all local South Orange County private and public schools to attend one of the workshop dates. Attendees will be treated to Farrell’s food and giveaways including a chance to win a limited edition Farrell’s backpack and a fundraising event where 50% of all food proceeds will be donated back to the school.

“With the states budget cuts to the school system and monetary donations to most charity organizations down, we couldn’t be happier to help out many of our local schools and community organizations. What’s great is for a lot of these schools, Farrell’s fundraisers are quickly becoming a yearly event that students, parents, teachers and staff really look forward to.” Nail continued, “We’ve already had schools from last year call up and book their fundraising dates for later this year.”

Farrell’s offers many different fundraising opportunities, but by far the most popular and successful is the “Faculty Flip-Flop” Fundraiser when teachers, staff and the principal become servers for the evening, taking food orders from students and their parents. Other successful fundraising opportunities include Lollipop sales, Principal Sundae Day and Dine at Farrell’s events. Fundraising dates are limited and Farrell’s is taking reservations now.
