Calloway's Nursery Welcomes Cooler Weather with Annual Fall Harvest Festival

Fort Worth, TX, September 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On October 1 all Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery locations in the Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston markets will bring in the fall season with a bounty of Texas grown pumpkins, gourds and squash as the Texas-based garden center transforms into a farmer’s market to host its annual Fall Harvest Festival from 9 am until 7 pm.

The family-friendly event offers free activities and crafts for children, a gardening clinic for adults and light refreshments. Throughout the day customers can shop from Calloway’s Pumpkin Patch while children can decorate a free pie pumpkin and participate in various activities such as taking pictures, creating a chalk garden, watching the Mad Science demonstration and playing in the gigantic bounce house. Gardening experts will be available to answer gardening questions and provide advice on how to spruce up the landscape after the extremely hot Texas summer.

“Pumpkins, squash and gourds are a sure sign that fall is here. We’ve also got a lot of fall color with our fresh shipments of Pansies, Petunias and Celosia,” Kimberly Bird, Vice President of Retail Marketing remarked.

Calloway’s and Cornelius Nurseries is a 19-store garden center chain serving the Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston markets. The company strives to make gardening fun, easy and successful for customers by offering expert advice from Texas Certified Nursery Professionals; store environments that are educational and easy to shop; weekly gardening clinics that serve both novice and expert gardeners; displays and instructions to aid gardeners with design and color development in their yards; and a product selection of the best plant varieties available.
