)-- The installation is comprised of 44 panels set and ballasted with concrete blocks onto to a flat commercial roof. The grid-tie functionality of the system allows any/all excess electric production to be fed back into the grid with a multi-directional meter from AmerenUE. The system will provide over 12,600 kWh of power annually servicing both Birkels corporate office and warehouse. In addition, over the 25- year warranty of the panels, 216 tons of greenhouse gas emission (CO2) will be kept out of the atmosphere, equivalent to driving a small car over 731,000 miles or the planting of over 8,600 trees.
