Debut CD "Tribulation" from Chameleon Guitarist Aims to Drop Pretension from Jazz

Atlanta, GA, September 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Atlanta-Based jazz guitarist Jacob Deaton will be launching his debut CD Release “Tribulation” during a two night concert stand at Chuchill Grounds Jazz Cafe. Deaton has played and recorded with numerous Atlanta bands spaning jazz, rock, singer/songwriter & soul including Indie Revenge named “Top Five Band to Watch” by Creative Loafing. The highly anticipated CD, “Tribulation”, marks Deaton’s first lead solo jazz project featuring original improvisational compositions.

Jacob Deaton and his quartet will be debuting Deaton’s highly anticipated CD, “Tribulation”, at Churchill Grounds Jazz Cafe on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:30pm & 11:30pm shows and on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 9:30pm & 11:30pm shows. Churchill Grounds Jazz Cafe is located at 660 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30308. Tickets will be $10 at the door. Deaton is a veteran guitarist in the Atlanta music scene known for his versatile style. He performs both as an independent artist and currently with two bands, Indie Revenge and Sweet Deat & The Revivalist. Indie Revenge is known for their experimental jazz/avant-garde sound and was named a “Top Five Band to Watch” by Creative Loafing. Sweet Deat & The Revivalist is a five-piece ensemble that features New Orleans sounds from the 1920s.

The release of “Tribulation” begins a new direction for Deaton. The CD includes jazz tracks that vary in style and combine styles including straight-ahead, swing, and bop. He is joined on the CD by noteable Atlanta musicians Justin Chesarek on drums, Craig Shaw on bass, Akeem Marable on alto saxophone and Nick Rosen on keys. “The result is a jivin' album that you’ll find yourself humming along to and marveling at the high level of improvisation,” says JazzTimes.com contributing writer Bruce Pulver. “Jacob Deaton is a musician committed to his heart and soul.
