Atlanta Premier of Louis Armstrong Tribute Concert Featuring Internationally Acclaimed Trumpeter

A Night with Satchmo makes it's Atlanta premier for a one night only concert event featuring the music of jazz great Louis Armstrong from the 20s, 30s & 40s hosted at the newly opened Fabrefaction Theatre. This Louis Armstrong Tribute concert is an evening of live performances of Louis Armstrong hits and a pre-concert retrospective moderated by WCLK's, Jay Edwards. The show features internationally acclaimed trumpeter Longineu Parsons, who has toured the world with such greats as Cab Calloway.

Atlanta, GA, September 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- JVC Promotions presents A Night with Satchmo, a one night only concert event featuring the music of jazz great Louis Armstrong hosted at the newly opened Fabrefaction Theatre. A Night with Satchmo Louis Armstrong Tribute is an evening of live performances of Louis Armstrong hits and a pre-concert retrospective from internationally acclaimed Longineu Parsons, who has toured the world with such greats as Cab Calloway, Nat Adderly and Nancy Wilson.

A Night with Satchmo Louis Armstrong Tribute featuring Internationally acclaimed trumpeter Longineu Parsons will be held a the Fabrafaction Theatre on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 6:15pm. Tickets are available on BestofAtlantaConcerts.com for $10 for students, in advance for $17 and at the door for $22. The concert will feature some of Louis Armstrong’s greatest hits such as Hello Dolly, Mack the Knife, Black & Blue and more. At 5:00pm, Longineu Parsons will provide a pre-concert retrospective of Armstrong’s life including antidotes from Armstrong’s time on the road. Long time Louis Armstrong enthusiast, Longineu Parsons teaches Music and African American Studies at Florida A&M University. The retrospective will be moderated by Jay Edwards, the host of WCLK’s Jazz Tones. “We want the people to have a more personal look of what Louis was really like when he was not on stage,” says the show’s promoter, Joe Cleveland.

Longineu will also be leading his quartet in honoring the music of Louis Armstrong. Longineu provides the distinctive vocals for which Armstrong is well known. “Even though our lives are far apart in time and distance, I feel his music is like mine. Playing like Louis is a natural for me as walking. I never had to try to play his style. I could just do it,” says Longineu. This will mark the first time Longineu’s nationally acclaimed Louis Armstrong Tribute has been performed in Atlanta. Longineu has been hailed by critiques internationally as being one of the world’s finest trumpet players. He is the protege of the great cornetist, Nat Adderly and has performed and recorded with such greats as Cab Calloway, Nancy Wilson and Joe Williams. He has performed for such dignitaries as the King of Morocco, The Royal Family of Monaco, President of Austria and the Royal Family of the Netherlands.
