)-- Bill Horne, CEO of Laser Spine Institute (http://www.laserspineinstitute.com), the leader in endoscopic spine surgery, has announced that Mary Mayer, CPC and health information manager, has been appointed as the chairwoman of the advisory board for Erwin Technical Center’s medical coding and billing program. Mayer established a medical coding externship with Erwin Technical Center, which is a vocational-technical college, in 2009. The program’s partnership brings medical coding externs to the Laser Spine Institute Tampa facility to work alongside Mayer’s medical coding team for increased learning and utilization of additional resources provided by the facility. In this volunteer position, Mayer will aid in curriculum enhancement and offer program guidance for the college and its future students.
“Mary has an expansive amount of knowledge and proficiency across the health information field and we are proud to have her represent Laser Spine Institute through her advisory role at Erwin Technical Center,” said Horne. “Her expertise and detailed training will prove to be extremely beneficial to the technical center, but it is Mary’s passion and commitment for excellence that will make her a treasured chairwoman.”
